Wild Winter Coast

Brookings, Oregon

[DATES]  |  5 Days / 4 Nights  |  Only 8 Spots

[HERO PHOTO URL — e.g. Secret Beach or Harris Beach sunset]

Join me for an unforgettable winter photography workshop on the wild southern Oregon coast! Based in Brookings, we'll photograph towering sea stacks, hidden coves, natural arches, crashing storm waves and misty old-growth redwoods.

Winter is when this coast is at its most dramatic: storm swells, moody skies, empty beaches, and low tides that fall in the afternoon, right when the light is best. We stay in the same hotel all four nights, and every location is within an hour's drive.

Workshop Highlights

  • Photograph the Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor: Secret Beach, Natural Bridges, Arch Rock, Whaleshead Beach and Indian Sands.
  • A sunrise and a sunset every day, each at a different location.
  • Foggy light beams in the giant redwoods of Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park.
  • Long-exposure seascapes, wave action, lighthouses and an introduction to night seascapes.
  • Beginning to intermediate landscape techniques: composition, light, filters and some post-processing.
  • One-on-one coaching in a small group. Only 8 spots available!

My workshops are always low-key, friendly and totally encouraging! Feel completely comfortable asking any question, big or small. This is a great way to learn some new photography skills or practice some old ones.
